Have you ever been in a place (or mode) of trying to “fix” yourself?
This generally involves things like:
- desperately seeking answers outside of yourself (we’ve all been there at some point on the spiritual path! so no judgment whatsoever)
- trying to find a healer, coach, doctor, spiritual teacher, ANYONE who will give you a “magic pill” or make things all better
- stressing over the fact that your “healing work” is never done
- treating your healing and spiritual growth like a project (i.e., getting attached to rigid deadlines, timelines, strategies, practices, etc in an attempt to heal as fast as possible)
- trying to get to some idealized “finish line”, and believing you’re flawed, incomplete, incapable of happiness or inner fulfillment or peace until you get there
When we approach our healing & spiritual growth with an energy of desperation, lack, urgency, or perfectionism, this tends to create an inner pressure that builds up and keeps your nervous system on high alert….
… which, paradoxically, prevents the natural flow of energy in your system that can ALLOW healing and growth to happen.
That’s the key difference –
Healing and growth must be allowed to happen naturally; they can’t be micromanaged, reverse-engineered, forced, rushed, or controlled.
Healing also requires periods of active participation on our part – such as actively doing the inner work – AND periods of integration, rest, and just allowing ourselves to BE… without having to get any healing “done.”
Above all, healing requires us to surrender to the current of Divine Flow (which we are ALL part of) and allow ourselves to be held, like newborn babes, by the loving arms of this Universe.
Through surrendering, softening, trusting, relaxing, making more space within yourself… healing becomes INEVITABLE.
I talk about this – and a few other ideas about healing and walking the spiritual path – on a recent bonus episode of my podcast.
You can tune in to that here:
INNER REVOLUTION – You don’t have to fix
