Upleveling Your Akashic Record Readings

Have you ever been to an Akashic Records reader, astrologer, psychic, or other spiritual reader/healer and:

Received SO much information that it overwhelmed you and left you a bit paralyzed or confused…
Received some good information but had no idea how to apply it or use it to create positive change in your life… OR
Received information that didn’t really resonate, and where your input or intuition wasn’t considered?

I (lovingly!) call these kinds of readings an “information dump” – where the reader basically “talks at” you for an hour and you’re not given a chance to take an active role in the process of creating insights, breakthroughs, or healing.

I think we’ve ALL gotten at least one of these readings… and, in some cases, we’ve given these info-dump readings to our clients!

(I know I’ve been guilty of this in the past, especially in my first year as an Akashic Records reader — where imposter syndrome and insecurity led me to overstuff my readings, as an attempt to prove my value.)

Info-dump readings are, unfortunately, common in the spiritual and self-development industries.

As conscious Lightworkers, I believe this is one of the things we’re here to change – the STANDARDS that drive our work, including *how* we do readings and how we show up for our clients.

Here are some additional drawbacks of information-dump readings:

They prevent the client from participating in their own intuitive and healing processes
They unconsciously perpetuate a power dynamic where the reader has all the power and knowledge, and the client is assumed to have none (or less than the reader)
They stay limited at the mental/cognitive level of insight, and fail to help the client in fully integrating, applying, and embodying the information they receive
They make the work for us as readers unnecessarily stressful and draining, because these kinds of readings require us to do all the “heavy lifting” and have all the answers (which, in time, leads to burnout)

So, what are some better ways to deliver readings that really STICK and make a genuine difference in our clients’ lives?

ONE: make your readings a collaborative and co-creative process, where reader and client come together as EQUALS to journey into the Akashic Records and make meaning together.

This also means we can take the pressure off ourselves (as readers) and realize we don’t need to have “all” the answers — in fact, we won’t ever have all the answers! And that’s ok.

TWO: empower clients to lean into, activate, and trust their own intuition… always reminding them that they’re fully capable of connecting to Divine Source themselves, and helping them to remove obstacles that get in the way.

THREE: connect in a genuine way with our clients – as fellow human beings – and experience the vast wisdom and light of the Akashic Records together… without any power over/power under dynamic or “unspoken assumption” that the reader has more power and knowledge than the client.

FOUR: craft a reading that’s truly transformative by including not only insight (at the cognitive level) but also opportunities for psychospiritual growth, breakthroughs, emotional release, healing, energetic shifts (both big and subtle), and deeper self-understanding for our clients.

These are some of the key guidelines for doing Akashic Record readings that I teach in my Certification Program.

People who are drawn to the program – and to this way of doing readings – are fully committed to raising the standards for spiritual work, both the work they do for their personal healing AND how they show up for clients.

As a practitioner, the energy, tools, and approach you bring to your readings REALLY matter… especially at a time when anyone on social media can call themselves a “reader” or “healer” and use these powerful tools irresponsibly or ineffectively.

Having a solid Akashic Records framework and toolkit make the difference between delivering an “okay” reading (which the client may forget soon after it’s over) and delivering a reading that transforms someone from the inside out.
