improve self-worth

Self-lack is just an illusion (you are complete!)

We’ve all been conditioned, taught, or shown by others (consciously or unconsciously) to believe that we’re lacking in some way… sometimes, in a fundamental way.

We may live for many years – in some cases, most of our lives – believing that we lack something important, that we’re somehow incomplete, that some aspect of us is missing or deficient.

No wonder many of us walk around thinking we’re not “enough” in some way.

Being part of a human society, being raised and taught by other humans, co-existing with other humans… it’s nearly impossible for anyone to NOT have some conditioning and false beliefs around this idea of self-lack.

To shed this illusion of self-limitation, it can be helpful to figure out the “core narrative” you’ve built about yourself.

What’s the core story of how you see yourself?

How much of that core story has been determined by the opinions, perspectives, biases, and projections of others?

Have you really seen yourself through your own eyes… and, most importantly, have you seen yourself through the eyes of your Higher Self – who loves you unconditionally?

Or is your core story made up of how others see you, or how others have perceived you in the past?

The problem here is that other people’s perceptions of you, whether good or bad, can never be the full truth of Who You Are.

Other people see us through their own lenses, opinions, beliefs, and life experiences.

I can almost guarantee you’ve had people in your life – at some point – who couldn’t REALLY see you; couldn’t value or recognize your true potential and way of being.

For example, during adolescence I got the (subliminal) message that it wasn’t ok to be as introverted as I am. I was repeatedly shown and told and suggested by others that in order to succeed in life, you must be outgoing, highly sociable, constantly doing things out in the world.

(It was a nightmare for an introverted HSP like me to try to conform to that!!)

Later on, in my early 20s, I learned through therapy that being introverted is ok… or more than ok, it’s just my natural way of being. And still, I had to do a LOT of work to release the shame of that false belief: that by being introverted, I was lacking something essential.

Letting go of that shame was much easier once I realized that other people’s projections and opinions are just that – their projections and opinions. They really have NOTHING to do with me.

So…

If you KNEW yourself to be complete, and whole, and to have everything you need within you right now…

How would you show up in the world tomorrow?

What would you do differently?

If you KNEW you were complete and not lacking anything, what would you stop doing? And what would you start doing instead?

This could be about beliefs – for example, which beliefs about yourself would you stop energizing? – and it could also be about actions, and choices.

Which relationships would you let go of, if you knew you were complete and didn’t need anyone to fill any void?

How would you put yourself out there and go beyond your comfort zone?

What would you create, starting tomorrow, if you knew yourself to be complete?

Because the truth is: YOU ARE. You are complete.

We can’t use the illusion of self-lack to hold us back anymore. These are not times for us to hold back, play small, or allow fear and self-doubt to stop us.

We’re here to help others awaken and anchor light into this planet; to create a new consciousness together.

A lot of this starts with you, right now, being willing to shatter the illusion that you’re lacking in any way.

This starts, right now, with you stepping into your brilliance, your courage, your gifts, your belief in yourself and in your power.

This is the time!

With love,
Josephine
