*Welcome, Lightworker! I invite you to join my email community to get free access to my Akashic Records Mini Course + weekly newsletter.
This is a continuation of Part 1 of this post.
Attitude 3: emotional regulation & willingness to allow the healing process to be messy
As healers, we must expand our capacity to be with ALL kinds of emotions… to embrace, welcome, and sit with messy emotions, resistance, and fear.
All of these emotional states are likely to come up in a genuine healing process – so we must learn not to fear them, whether in ourselves or in our clients.
If we’re afraid of our own (or our clients’) emotions, we won’t be able to masterfully hold space for those emotions and for our clients’ inner processes.
Said another way: we can’t take clients to places where we haven’t been ourselves.
This attitude is about expanding capacity and working on our inner emotional regulation, so we can stay present and grounded as we guide our clients.
Another key piece here is remaining detached from outcomes, and allowing each session or reading to flow in the most meaningful direction – even if it’s unexpected.
Attitude 4: clearly understanding our role and scope as healers (i.e., knowing that “healer” is an inaccurate label)
Many of us identify as “healers” – myself included. (Part of my training is specifically as an intuitive and spiritual healer.)
This is a completely valid way of understanding and defining ourselves.
At the same time, we must hold a deep and humble knowing that WE are not the ones “doing the healing.”
We can’t heal anyone, or do the healing work for them, or fix or save them.
We’re not “oracles”, and we don’t have all the answers.
It’s so important to be in right relationship with our role as “healers”, and with the scope of what we’re here to do.
We’re not here to be responsible for anyone else’s emotional states.
We’re not here to force people to change or grow.
We’re not here to solve anything for anyone.
We’re here – the way I see it – as temporary companions for our fellow humans on the path, so we can ALL evolve together and learn from each other.
Being clear about this has at least two massive benefits: (1) it helps us keep ego out of the way, and (2) it softens any pressure we might otherwise put on ourselves about having to “save” everyone.
Cultivating these four attitudes, as an ongoing process, can help us do extraordinary healing work with our clients – and raise the standards and effectiveness of the healing industry, as a whole.
If this approach and way of working resonate with you – and you’d like to take your healing and practitioner skills to the next level – consider joining the waitlist for my Akashic Records Certification Program.
I’d love to explore if this would be the most aligned next step for you.
With love,
Josephine
